In the shadow of the Cross, Let us linger, Lord, with Thee, May I never forget Thy sorrow Or Thy pain and agony. Would I might have saved Thy suffering, There upon the cruel tree, Cleanse Thy wounds and give Thee comfort, Quench Thy thirst and set Thee free.
