"Do not those who plot
evil go astray? But those
who plan what is good find
love and faithfulness."
Proverbs 14:22
Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and
strayed
from
thy
ways
like
lost
sheep,
we
have
followed
too
much
the
devices
and
desires
of
our
own
hearts,
we
have
offended
against
thy
holy
laws.
We
have
left
undone
those
things
which
we
ought
to
have
done,
and
we
have
done
those
things
which
we
ought
not
to
have
done,
and
there
is
no
health
in
us.
But
thou,
O
Lord,
have
mercy
upon
us
miserable
offenders;
spare
thou
them,
O
God,
which
confess
their
faults;
restore
thou
them
that
are
penitent,
according
to
thy
promises
declared
unto
mankind
in
Christ
Jesus
our
Lord.
And
grant,
O
most
merciful
Father,
for
his
sake,
that
we
may
hereafter
live
a
godly,
righteous,
and
sober
life,
to
the
glory
of
thy
holy
Name.

Precious Than Silver"

Judas Iscariot, the Son of perdition,
Is the subject of this small composition.
Called to follow the man of Galilee
An unworthy disciple, he proved to be.
Trusted with money, he began to fall,
And took what was not His at all,
His greed for money grew more and more,
And the Master's betrayal, he soon fell for.
Thirty pieces of silver, for this He was sold,
The price of a slave, in the days of old,
Before the last supper,
arrangements were made,
To betray in the garden,
where Christ often Prayed.
Deceit in His heart, he gave Him a kiss,
In which no affection, gave aid to its bliss,
They seized Him and took Him
to a farce of a trial,
And mocked Him and scourged Him,
these sons of Belial.
You know the rest how they crucified Him,
And put Him to death, on Calvary's rim,
This sinless one, so good and pure,
Had all this torture to endure.
Realizing at last, the crime he had done,
And seeing no way, his deed to atone,
He took his own life, and hung from a tree,
And thus he faced Eternity.
Beware you don't fall as Judas did,
By having your hand in the Treasury lid,
Some still rob God, don't give what is due,
Of all the good things He has given you.
We too may betray Him, by things we do,
If we are unfaithful and stray from Him too,
So let us be loyal to Him every day,
Nor ever be guilty of leading others astray.
