Scripture
“Mary
stood
outside
the
tomb
crying.
As
she
wept,
she
bent
over
to
look
into
the
tomb
and
saw
two
angels
in
white,
seated
where
Jesus’
body
had
been,
one
at
the
head
and
the
other
at
the
foot.
They
asked
her,
‘Woman,
why
are
you
crying?’
‘They
have
taken
my
Lord
away,’
she
said,
‘and
I
don’t
know
where
they
have
put
him.’
At
this,
she
turned
around
and
saw
Jesus
standing
there…”
John
20:10-14

Prayer
Almighty God, who through
death
of
your
Son
has
destroyed
sin
and
death,
and
by
his
resurrection
has
restored
innocence
and
everlasting
life,
that
we
may
be
delivered
from
the
dominion
of
the
devil,
and
our
mortal
bodies
raised
up
from
the
dead:
Grant
that
we
may
confidently
and
whole-heartedly
believe
this,
and,
finally
with
your
saints,
share
in
the
joyful
resurrection
of
the
just;
through
the
same
Jesus
Christ,
your
Son,
our
Lord.

How welcome is sweet Easter Day,
When an Angel came, rolled the stone away,
From the tomb of Jesus and He arose,
And conquered death, o'er all His foes.
What hope it gives to every heart,
When from this life, we do depart,
We too, shall live, in that fair land,
Forever more, with the Angel band.
Where Jesus Christ, has gone to prepare,
Many mansions in that land so fair,
Where we may dwell eternally,
If we, on earth, will faithful be.
We surely should this day rejoice,
If we have made Jesus Christ our choice,
And help to spread His word abroad,
And peace to all it would afford.
To all who put their trust in Him,
In their hearts, will place a hymn,
Of praise and worship ever more,
His wondrous life, they will adore.
And laud and love, His Holy name,
Glory be, from the grave He came,
And conquered death once and for all,
In adoration, we humbly fall.
