Quote
I asked Jesus,
"Lord, how much
do you love me?"
Jesus spread his
arms, and died.

Prayer
O
Christ,
give
us
patience
and
faith
and
hope
as
we
kneel
at
the
foot
of
thy
Cross,
and
hold
fast
to
it.
Teach
us
by
thy
Cross
that
however
ill
the
world
may
be,
the
Father
so
loved
us
that
he
spared
not
thee.

The old rugged cross, which our Saviour bore,
Up Calvary's Hill till He could bear it no more,
Thorn crowned and weak, He sunk 'neath its load,
As He toiled and struggled up Calvary's road.
Simon of Cyrene was forced it to bear,
What a privilege was His, Christ's burden to share,
The old rugged cross was hewn from a tree,
A crude ugly thing, it was fashioned to be.
Good women then wept, wicked men did scorn,
As He poured out His life blood, the cross to adorn,
O glorious Cross, the sacrifice made,
For your sins and my sins, the price was all paid.
Though rugged and old, its beauty we see,
Since it offered pardon, for you and for me,
In love He laid, His dear life down,
To offer His mercy, He sought not renown.
Glory shall be His, from all who believe,
And praises eternally, He shall receive,
This old rugged cross, we treasure it now,
And in humble reverence, before it we bow.
