"The grass withers and the
flowers fall, but the word of
our God stands forever."
Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that like as we do believe thy
only-begotten
Son
our
Lord
Jesus
Christ
to
have
ascended
into
the
heavens;
so
we
may
also
in
heart
and
mind
thither
ascend,
and
with
him
continually
dwell,
who
liveth
and
reigneth
with
thee
and
the
Holy
Ghost,
one
God,
world
without
end.
Amen.

Jesus is coming, is coming again,
In the book of Acts, is revealed to man,
He was the victor, o'er death and the grave,
He was seen many times, all doubts it should save.
Seen of five hundred, the story is told,
The story so new, it never grows old,
He told us to tell it and tell it some more,
Till all shall know it, the wide world o'er.
His parting advice (and God's plan is right)
And while they were looking, was taken from sight,
God took Him to Heaven, sent two Angels down,
God's act must have been, quite the talk of the town.
The Angels said plainly, 'Ye men of Galilee,
Why stand ye gazing?' (with no more to see)
This same Jesus, who went into Heaven,
The same way shall come from that fair haven.
We know He is coming, it may be soon,
In the night time or morning or late afternoon,
It matters but little, the date or the hour,
If we have accepted, His life giving power.
If we but follow the example He set,
We have nothing to fear and naught to regret,
May we be faithful, each day and each hour,
If we have accepted, His life giving power.
As the lightning that shineth from East to the West,
So His coming shall be when God deems it best,
Flowers and grass shall fall in decay,
God's word shall endure forever and aye.
