Prayer
O God, who by your One and
only Son has overcome death and opened to us the gate of everlasting
life; grant, we pray, that those who have been redeemed by his passion
may rejoice in his resurrection, through the same Christ our Lord.

He Lives

In the early morn, while the skies were gray,
Three good women, went on their way,
To the tomb of Jesus, with spices sweet,
Intent to anoint Him, from head to feet.
They queried each other, upon the way,
O who will roll the stone away,
The stone was heavy and sealed outside,
And soldiers were guarding there, beside.
As they drew near to their surprise,
An Angel was there, in no disguise,
The soldiers gone and the stone was rolled,
An Angel sat and this story told.
'He is risen, He is not here,
He is gone before you, have no fear,
Tell His disciples that they shall see,
He has gone before them to Galilee.'
The joyous tidings the Angel told,
To us, who hear it, will ne'er grow old,
The victory o'er death, the hope it gives,
We know we shall live, because He lives.
