Lenten Thoughts (2)

Scripture
"…in all your ways
acknowledge him,
and he will make
your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:6 NIV
Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, who for the redemption of the world ascended the wood of the cross, and the whole world was turned into darkness, grant us always that light, both in body and soul, whereby we may attain to everlasting life; who with the Father and the Holy Spirit live and reign, one God, world without end.

The Cross of Christ, I seem to see,
Out there on old Mt. Calvary,
The blessed Christ, God's only Son,
Suspended there, the cross upon.
The agony He bore while there,
I'm very sure has no compare,
For our sinful souls, He took the blame,
For all our guilt and sin and shame.

It grieves my heart, I want to cry,
That for our sins, He had to die,
I do Thank God, that His Son He gave,
Victory o'er death and e'en the grave.
This boundless Love, we can't repay,
Though we work for Him, just every day,
Some talent He has given you,
Don't hide it from the world to view.

But do your best, to do His work,
And never from His labor shirk,
In all thy ways acknowledge Him,
And never let your light grow dim.
